I’ve touched on the topic of women not being “seen” on the web before and now I am chuffed to see that The Next Web blog is taking up the challenge of finding 100 female tech and web heroes. If you know of someone who would fit this bill perfectly, leave a comment on their blog and spread the word. I know there are a lot more than 100 female web heroes out there - we just need to bring some attention to them.

Lorissa, I think that you and I sing the same song. I’m always commenting (ranting, actually) on the dearth of accolades given to women photobloggers, women bloggers, etc. on the web. In fact, as the primary writer and editor for VFXY Photos, I’m always telling the men of the group that we really need to promote more women (and while they are supportive, they also forget moments after we’ve discussed it).
I hope that The Next Web is able to really promote women. We deserve it.

I am greatful that you picked upon my story in such positive manner. This week I will publish my first 15 findings of CEO, entrepreneur or investors in the UK. In the meantime I have an international list of 100+, mainly from Uk, USA and Holland. Promtion gives rolmodels!!
