The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is a fantastic humanitarian organisation. They are working with Ann Jones, a writer and photographer, to highlight the survival stories of women in West Africa as part of 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence. For the next 16 days, starting tomorrow on Sunday Nov 25th, Ann will blog from West Africa and post these women’s stories and photos.

For most of us, we can not even imagine what women in these parts of the world have to endure and how incredible they are for surviving some of the most appalling and horrific experiences.

When I was preparing the blog that follows yours I hadn’t read your blog yet. It is very interesting that we both picked up on women’s issues at the same time and I think it is important that ATG isn’t just a place to share our artistic stuff but a place that we can raise awareness on serious women’s issues too. Keep bloggin’
