All Change
Life in our house has completely changed over the last two and a half months. After rearing 6 children over the last 31 years, my husband Tony and I found ourselves living alone about six months ago when our youngest daughter fled the nest. We were just getting used to it and beginning to enjoy our new found freedom, when my other daughter’s circumstances dramatically changed and we brought her and our beautiful grandaughter home to live with us. We used to have the little one sleepover quite often, so she was qute used to us but to have her and her mum living here is lovely. My daughter is not very well so I do a lot with my granddaughter and we are very close.
Now life might have changed, may be more demanding but am I disappointed? No way, I may feel exhausted but I also feel rejuvenated as there is no better way to look at things afresh than to look at them through the eyes of a child. Our granddaughter is not only highly intelligent with a very good vocabulary for 22 months but also has a great sense of humour. I love sharing new experiences with her and she in turn delights us all with her new words and laughter and whats-more, I’m just getting used to my new early morning call, ‘Nan-neee…… I want a tup of tea.’

You have found true happiness as I have, being a grandma. Enjoy every moment.
