Joining the Crew, by Melissa A. Bartell
Greetings and felicitations, and all that.
I found ATG through Deb a couple of years ago - I used to buy blog templates from her, actually - yeah - that long ago - and I’ve contributed a couple of times over the years, but I kept getting sucked back into corporate America.
A year ago, I became a freelance writer, and while I love that I get to work at home in my pajamas, writing what other people tell you to all the time isn’t very fulfilling. I kept looking at ATG and thinking, “I’d like to be more involved in that,” and then letting life distract me.
And then a couple weeks ago, Deb and I met for coffee, and now I have this stack of books to review, and I’ll be pitching in and helping wherever there’s a need. I’m excited to be here, and looking forward to getting to know everyone whose words I already read, or whose art already makes me smile.
In real life, I’m currently sporting hair that goes through varying stages of pinkness, and I’m much cooler than my picture. Really.

Great to have you join us. I already love your sense of humor. I have been doing freelance copywriting for the past few years so I know exactly what you mean about not finding satisfaction writing what others tell you to write. ATG is a wonderful outlet for sharing what’s brimming inside you and for connecting with some wonderful women.
