From the Editor: Welcome to Journeys (Jan/Feb 2009)
Often in life, we are in the “hurry up and get there” mode. Life is a series of obstacles all geared towards the end result. There is a different school of thought, however, and that is the journey on our way to the destination is just as important as the actual end-point. It’s with this thought that we bring you the first All Things Girl issue of 2009: Journeys.
As you peruse this fabulous little piece of cyberspace we’ve created for you at All Things Girl, I hope you find some inspiration on the journey through our pages. First of all, let me point the way to the classic sections of Writings and Arts, which are representative of our theme. Grab a fresh cup of tea and spend some time with Writings , where you will find both lighthearted and somewhat suspenseful short stories and poems. I know you’ll recognize many names here and will be just as excited to discover new talent as well. And don’t forget our Arts section, which is a veritable joy to view. Everything Girl is, as always, wonderful. You will find part one of our interview with our cover girl Laura Bell Bundy as well as a jaunt into the mind of our sexy Man of the Moment, Brian D’Arcy James. Everything Girl is also a great place to find some thought-provoking journeys into the minds of our regular columnists and editorial staff. Oh, and though we often put reviews here in the blog, you will still find recommendations in Reviews!
As always, keep an eye on The Blog. You never know what you might find as the editors and columnists share what’s on their minds.
We’re still taking submissions for “Journeys” by the way, but you need to be quick. We’ll have a mid-issue update February 1st and will be adding a few items here and there… If you are inspired to share your talents, submissions are open for future editions of All Things Girl – and we can’t wait to see what you’ve got!
I am hopeful that 2009 will be a year where you embark on the journey to reach the goals and dreams you have for your life. Just don’t forget to stop and smell the roses along your way.
