From the Editor: Welcome to Fresh! (Nov/Dec 2007)

from-the-editor-welcome-to-fresh-novdec-2007

When I think of the word “Fresh”, it conjures up thoughts of freshly cut grass and waterfalls over mossy rocks…and if you live in the Northern Hemisphere, you are feeling the fresh crisp breezes of Fall here and there. The theme of “Fresh” certainly fits the time of year, no matter where you live, but it also fits the changes you will see as you visit the new All Things Girl.

We have reworked most of the sections of All Things Girl - simplifying our headings, so to speak. I’m sure the first thing you will notice is a complete overhaul in the look of our e-zine. While you are “wow-ed” by what you see, nothing compares to the fabulous content you’ve come to expect from the editors and submitters of All Things Girl.

Writings (formerly Poetry & Prose) paints the kind of word pictures that will bring you to every edge of interpretation of Fresh! And I have to say that Arts (formerly Art & Photography) is the most impressive collection of images we’ve ever had at All Things Girl. Writings and Arts have always been the core of All Things Girl and I am incredibly humbled by the talented women who put their trust in sharing their gifts with us.

Everything Girl is both new and old. You’ve seen the evolution from the original Mind & Body over time as it became Well Rounded Women…and now we’ve shaken it up a bit…mixing in everything that makes us women - careers, relationships, health, creativity and our opinions. We have been blessed with some amazing women who are lending us their hearts and talents as regular columnists, and are giving it a good mix with our editors – and the fabulous submitters. We want to touch upon every facet of a woman’s life, so feel free to let us know what you have to say.

Also in Everything Girl, you’ll find part one of our interview with the Fresh cover girl – Sabrina Sloan. You may recognize Sabrina Sloan from American Idol, but take this opportunity to get to know her even more. You’ll also see a new feature – our introductory “Man of the Moment” – a look at a creative – and hot – man who we’re sure you’ll enjoy getting to know.

We are rounding out this Fresh edition of All Things Girl with something old and something new. We love to share, with you, our opinions on stuff you buy, so check into the Reviews section. And the something new? Well, the Blog. Not new in the world of the internet, but new here at All Things Girl. In the past, our blog has been a place for announcements about the e-zine, but we wanted more. Many of the editors have chosen to step outside their personal blogs and talk about what we have going on in our lives and minds.

We’re still taking submissions for “Fresh!” by the way, but you need to be quick. We’ll have a mid-issue update December 1st and will be adding a few items here and there - we’ll have some fresh reviews and part two of our interview with Sabrina Sloan. If you are inspired to share your talents, submissions are open for future editions of All Things Girl – and we can’t wait to see what you’ve got.

Take your time savoring this “Fresh!” edition of All Things Girl. We look forward to hearing what you think!
