Needed: A Bigger Nightstand

needed-a-bigger-nightstand

I’ve already confessed to being a bit of a prose-a-holic. The holidays were quiet here and my traveling has increased a bit this month. The combination of quiet in my house, quiet nights in hotel rooms, airport waits and plane flights equates an increased volume of novel consumption. My nightstand is about to buckle and my briefcase straps are about to break.

I know that the holidays are typically a time of gluttony in the food arena, but I’ve turned from a prose-a-holic to a prose junky since Christmas. I’ve been reading combinations of novels that I’ve picked up in the bookstore, books from publishing houses, and re-reads of enjoyed books that reside on my personal bookshelves.

Now, let me first share with you the books that I have read in the last four weeks….and will be reviewing soon in the Reviews Section (like I did with Seeing Me Naked by Liza Palmer)

  • The Art of French Kissing - by Kristen Harmel. Will be released February 25th. Light and Funny. Expect an interview with Kristen.
  • The Girl Who Stopped Swimming - by Joshilyn Jackson. Will be released March 4th. Loved this book….mysterious and intriguing tale….
  • Carpool Diem - by Nancy Star. A realistic look at Life in the Soccer Lane…. To be released March 13th
  • Girls in Trucks - by Katie Crouch. A Debut Novel about a bit of a tarnished Southern Belle. Not the fluff I expected it to be…but had lots of soul to it. Expect an interview with the author of this novel, due out April 7th.

Books I’ve spent some time enjoying again….or studying…. I do some reading that is more work related at times. I find that the New Year reminds me to read a bit of non-fiction as well as fiction.

Other books that have made their way into my briefcase:

  • Wizard’s Daughter By Catherine Coulter. A bit on the fluff side, but part of the Sherbrooke Bride family novels. Lots of Mystery. Bit chunk of fantasy.

As to why I need a bigger nightstand? I was pulling together a list of books to read and authors to interview…and the stack of yummy prose is just waiting for me is about 8 or 9 books high. I’m seeing lots of mystery, romance, and intrigue to be my travel companion over the next few weeks!

What about you? What are you reading these days?
